The Good Old Hockey Game

I was so excited when this image from Sparkle Creations arrived in the mail yesterday.  I had won their Christmas Challenge with this card.  I don't know whether Stephanie's choice was random or whether she was influenced by my Stamping alias Cndn Stamper, but this Canuck could not be happier with her choice.  I'd never seen Sparkle stamps before in person but they are beautiful deeply etched rubber and it stamped beautifully from the start.  I'll have to check out some more.

I love making hockey cards.  They always remind me of my brother.  He's not the most sentimental person in the word but he admits that he has all my hockey cards up in his office all the time.  I'm so glad to have a new image for him.  He's going to love this especially now that hockey has started up again.

I've deliberately made this image into a Team Canada player by printing the image of a maple leaf onto copy paper, colouring it and then cutting it out.  I then went and looked up the uniform since dear brother will be sure to let me know of any inaccuracies.

The ice is masked using my cheesecloth background stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms.

Just for fun, can you tell me who sings "The Good Old Hockey Game"? without googling it?  If you haven't heard Canada's unofficial anthem, you can find a link to it here.

Challenges this Card Meets:
Creative Inspirations - One for the Guys
Caseology - Game
Glitter and Sparkle Challenge - For the Boys
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
GE-WE Challenge - Make a Winter Card
