Through the Looking Glass Window

I love this kind of Christmas card - the kind you can send well into January because I'm not always organized enough to get my cards out in time.  It looks wintery without being focused on the one day.
After I created it though I realized my mistake.  I love the look of the crayon resist bricks I made, except the only place I know that has exposed brick on the interior is in Yaletown, here in Vancouver, BC.  The view from those apartments would be of a sports arena or other large towers, not of a forest.  Oh well.

The window die is calling me to redo this card as a shaker.  I can't wait to try it, just not today.  I'm so sleepy...

The trees are from Mark's Finest Papers and were stamped in Wild Wasabi and Old Olive.  I added some white crayon to the top of the branches to give the illusion of snow.  I think a white gel pen would have done a more dramatic effect but I can't seem to find mine.

The bricks were made by drawing the bricks with white crayon.  I used a quilting ruler to make them even.  I then directly added Fired Brick and Vintage Photo distress inks right to the paper in a circular motion until I was happy with the intensity of the colour.

The card was looking a little plain so I added a snowflake die from Create a Flake 2 by Spellbinders and used my CM circle punch for the sentiment.  "Let it Snow" is from Heartfelt Creations.

All in all, it was a fun, quick card to make.  Hope you enjoy.
