Christmas Quilt

I was inspired today to make cards when my Christmas Cardinals set arrived in the mail on Friday.  I've been in a bit of a funk since making 60 ATC cards for Valentine's Day.  I didn't even get them photographed before giving them all away and I'm so fed up with them, I haven't even wanted to make up some samples.

I had actually pre-coloured several cardinals in the set when I decided to make this background.  It's made from 1/2 inch white strips of paper which I've sponged with Distress Inks.  After I had it completed, I decided that I didn't want to cover it all up with an image.  I'd found this medallion in my stash and coloured the edges with a gold Sharpie pen.  The sentiment is also from the MFP's Christmas Cardinal set.

I still have a scary amount of white scraps that even my Valentine's did not put a dent into.  I'm thinking I may try this card again in soft pastels for a baby card.
