Happy Birthday, Cupcake!
First of all, I am so excited to announce that I am the Guest Designer for Mark's Finest Papers, Simple Salutations Challenge on SpeedyTV. I so hope you will join; it's free and lots of fun. The challenge this week is "Anything Goes".
I had loads of fun making this card for The Princess this week. I'm not sure if it is her sunny disposition or the great weather we were having but I was reaching for my brightest papers, the one's I love to buy and am often to scared to try and use. The cupcake and the sentiment is a retired set from Mark's Finest Papers, Birthday Cupcake. I stamped it on the blue so that I wouldn't loose the cherry stem. Secondly, I stamped it again on a white piece of card stock. The frosting was made using the Faux Frosting tutorial you can find here. It added some great dimension. Finally I paper pieced the cupcake wrapping. I love how that turned out.
The layout came from Splitcoaststampers' Sketch Challenge #425.
Now I'm off to finish the pirate ship invitations for DS's birthday party. Wish me luck!
