When I saw this week's Sketch with a Twist of being "End of Summer", I didn't have to think. I knew exactly what image to grab. End of summer always means one last road trip before being tied back at school. I actually love road trips, even with little ones. I love the picnics, the unexpected stops and the memories they make. We did several this summer. I'm slowly converting DH to my way of thinking.
This card uses an image from Mark's Finest Paper's "Hello Trucks", my favourite guy set. I used Chocolate Chip and embossed the image so that I could use my Copics on the image. I added a lot of grey for shading to give it a slightly vintage look.
The paper is unknown, a kindly donation by someone cleaning out a closet. I thought the arrows were perfect for the usual summer detours you can expect on any road trip.
Lots of fun but as usual, I did have a little detour myself from the sketch with my frame around my image. But isn't that part of the fun of a sketch? I can't wait to see everyone else's ideas of "End of Summer".
