Lovely Lotus Blossoms

This week's Simple Salutations Challenge was to make a Feminine Birthday card.  I'm so glad for this challenge because this layout with the lotus blossoms has been floating around in my head for a while.

I was looking for the perfect paper and found this in my "What on Earth?" pile but on a 5 X 7 card, it was perfect.  I love the fluidity the lines bring.  Please tell me you have "What was I thinking?" supplies stashed somewhere.  I'd hate to think I was the only one.

The sentiment and flower came from the same Lotus Blossom set.  The lotus blossoms were paper pieced and I just highlighted them with a little bit of Copic markers for a touch of depth.  The die cuts were outlined in my gold marker again.  What can I say, I'm running low on gold cardstock and Christmas is coming!  The sentiment was heat embossed in gold.

Challenges this Card Meets:
Speedy TV's Simple Salutations - Feminine Birthday Card
Craft Room Challenge - Photo Inspiration (I used the lines on the teacup.)

  1. Absolutely gorgeous! I love the background, so restful! The gold marker looks great and probably much better than gold card! Beautifully coloured, bravo!
