Thank You Camellia

This week's challenge on MFP's Simple Salutations is to use Grey, Red and Pink.  I used this month's new release, Camellia for the image.  I think it's gorgeous.  I finally got around to making colour swatches of my Copics and I've found it's really helped with colouring because I can now colour and blend by comparison.  E.g.: I can now find 5 colours in a range, rather than the 3 that I had bought as a set because I can see how they compare.  You can see it how I blended the reds and pinks in my colouring.  I wish I had done this sooner.

Now for a confession.  I completed this card at midnight and went to bed.  I went to upload it the next day on blogger and realized I didn't have a salutation.  Uh, oh.  The scroll was added in order to tie in the salutation.  I think I've had this die for two years and not played with it but I really like how it looks.  Because it has leaves on it, I kept thinking it needed to be green.  I was in a hurry to get to work and decided to go with red and I think I'll try it again with other colours.  Do you ever find you have old tools that all of a sudden you realize you can use differently?
