Wedding Cupcakes

I didn't do much card making in September and I thought I might show you why.  My sister was married on October 5th and I'm so happy to claim her new husband as family.  She had asked my aunt who is an amazing baker to make the cupcakes for the wedding.  Now I'm not exaggerating about my aunt.  My brother, a professional chef, has to take samples of our family dinner desserts to the pastry chef friend at one of the high end restaurants downtown because the pastry chef loves her desserts.

Anyways,  I was enlisted to help with the cupcakes.  My contribution was the cupcake picks, all 130 of them were double-sided and heat embossed in white.  I used SU's Label Love in case you want to recreate them.  The chocolate cupcake picks were done in black but we had picks in 4 shades of grey and Bravo Burgundy  (left-over from my wedding nine years ago.) All the cupcake liners were individually die cut and then embossed.  I used 5 different embossing patterns.  All the flowers on the cupcakes were made by my aunt.

The night before the wedding my aunt, mom and I got together to assemble the cupcakes.  I was in charge of all the piping and the placement of the flowers and picks.  We had chocolate, figgy cake, ginger, and orange cardamon.  The orange cardamon was my favourite but the chocolate was the run-away hit.  You are only seeing a fraction of the cupcakes in these photos.  There were about 200 to ensure we had 120 perfect ones and I had made extras of all liners and picks in case of disaster.  Thankfully, they weren't needed.

Thank you to TT Lui Photography for the photographs.
