Jolly Roger

This week's Speedy Fox and Friends challenge is to make a black and white card.  I was totally inspired by a print that I found almost a month ago in my Pottery Barn catalogue of a square black print of a white jolly roger.  I can't find my catalogue now to show you and for the life of me, I can't find it on their website.  The image was in the background, I don't think it was really intended to be featured but I loved it and wanted to recreate it with my new Pirates set.  I'm so frustrated because I had grabbed the catalogue because I loved quite a few images in it and planned to use it as my inspiration guide for the next little while.    Grrr.

I decided to use a white base to create my frame.  The image is stamped in versa mark and then heat embossed to give some texture and definition.  I used my white chalk pastel to fill in the image and then buffed all the embossing.  After sealing the chalk, I repeated the step to give it enough contrast.  I love the ghostly effect.  I know this isn't for everyone.  It is a bit ghoulish but I think it would make a fun card for male teen.  It's just that little bit outside of the norm.

Challenges this Card Meets:
Fab 'N Funky - Masculine
Creatalicious - Embossing (I used heat embossing.)
Shopping Our Stash - Lost and Found (my chalk pastels)
Incy Wincy - Embossing (I used heat embossing.)
Crafting From the Heart - Anything Goes
Sentimental Sundays - No Sentiment
