A Journey Begins with a Single Step

Congratulations to my neightbour! She is celebrating receiving her Master's Degree in Education today and is a complete inspiration to me. Must get my act together. If she can do it with little ones, so can I.

I'd completely forgotten about the party until this morning and had none in my stash for graduating. Isn't that always the way? Boxes and boxes of card and none that you can use at the last minute!

Both kids were awake so I had a total of twenty minutes to get all the supplies out, create and put everything back before DS's show was over and he would come and "help". I love creating with him but not on a deadline and he had activities to get to today.

The base is whisper white, with a panel of Blue Brocade. I am sooo going to miss this colour - my all time favourite blue. It reminds me of chambray and blends well with so many shades. The grad caps come from SU's Year After Year (retired). I bought this set when I first started because it did cover so many occasions without a big investment. I used Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder to give it a bit of texture. The vellum is stamped first in Versamark and then Night of Navy and embossed using Wonderful Words (retired) and attached using some old brads my school was throwing out.

Challenges this card meets:
Cute Card Thursday - No Patterned Paper
Quixotic Challenge - Emboss It

  1. What a great graduation card! We just don't see enough heat embossing nowadays, it has such an impressive effect!
