Roaring Good Day

Two very similar cards today.  I told DH that I needed some intense paper therapy after surviving DS's birthday blitz.  I took down all the birthday decorations and only one corner of the dinosaur tablecloth had some chocolate stains on it.  However, none of the picture parts were damaged.  The images are so fun that I decided to try the felted napkin technique with them.  I ironed the thin paper tablecloth to some freezer paper to give it a bit of strength and then die cut out the image the way I wanted.  I would have preferred to have the whole dinosaur in the images but T-Rex is too large and the steggie was cut off at the edge of the tablecloth.  I'm so totally thrilled with how this old purple card stock and Costco DP match the colours of the tablecloth.  Neither are papers that I would normally choose at first glance but they really work.  I liked the result so much, I used a few more from the tablecloth to make all the thank you cards.  I had the cards made and written to give out before the end of the night!  Yeah me.

I still have tons left over and am trying to decide whether I should accept there is way more than I can ever use or just make a ton of quick cards because they are so EASY and look so great for very little effort.  We seem to need LOTS of little boy birthday and thank you cards but when is enough, enough?

  2. Hi, lovely dinosaur cards. I know some little boys who would love these! Thanks for dropping by my blog. My blog candy sign up day will be Wed, Apr 25th. This saturday was just my teaser photo to show everyone all the goodies I have. Everyday on the Sweet Pea blog there should be an announcement of which DT members are giving away candy and links to their blog to sign up. Best of luck!! 3. They are sooo cute! How much of the matching paper do you have? I usually make till I run out of the paper. So if you have enough to make 5-10 more I'm sure you can give out to his friends. Oh make them into valentine cards for his class!! now that would be cute!

I have had a blast working with you at For Fun Challenges. I hope life slows down a bit for you and your son heals without any problems. I'm sorry you had to step down but I hope you will stop by and play with us sometime.
