I Drive Your Truck

Please note, there is not a diecut or embossing plate to be found.  Thank goodness, this week's Sketch with a Twist has such nice clean lines or I would have been in big trouble.  My new Big Shot is on order but has not arrived yet.  Good news though.  When I went to talk to the owner of my LSS, she was upset because she couldn't get the old Black and Pink model.  However, since DH had already paid for it, I was able to cover the difference to order a Big Shot Pro.  I can't wait for it to arrive!

My card is a bit darker than I would normally like but it makes me happy to use the Bravo Burgundy since these are scraps from my wedding invitations.  My anniversary is coming up so it was making feel a bit nostalgic.  The image is from Covered Bridges.  The sentiment is from Background Fun.  Interestingly, I found my Stampin' Up inks gave me a much more detailed impression than my Distress Inks.  I would have loved to use VersaFine ink on the image but I only have black and wanted to keep the brown/burgandy, navy colour scheme.  Our twist this week is to use buttons.  The buttons came off a work shirt that I finally had to give up with much regret.  I used burgandy DMC floss in the button holes.  It just gives it a more polished look to have thread in the buttons, otherwise I think buttons always look like they are going to fall off.

Hope you'll join us this week!

  1. Congrats (surely belated) on the design team! This is a great card, and I plan to play along this week if I can unearth some Marks stamps or images in my play room. I hope you get your new die cutter soon :-)
