A Burst of Sun on Your Birthday

I tried a new technique as part of this year's Hope You Can Cling To Challenges on Splitcoaststampers.  We are to make a sunburst or starburst card.  I don't have a lot of co-ordinating papers so this was more challenging than it probably should have been but I love the results and will do this again.  What a great way use scraps.  If you follow the link to Splitcoaststampers, there is even a tutorial at the bottom of the challenge post #17.

The stamp is from Stampendous, I believe and is part of the Birthday Medallions set.  I used my SU markers and coloured directly on my stamp before stamping on a scrap of white cardstock.

Because I am me and I hate to waste paper, you will see the patchwork quilt card with the larger scrap ends of the DP that I cut off in making this card later this week.  Pretty paper should never be wasted after all!
