Mooseltoe

I know that many people love snowy cards for Christmas but this one is more reflective of winter on the West Coast.  Beautiful but green.  I'll send this one to my brother up north, who will be buried in snow, that enjoys hunting.

This week's challenge at MFP's Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge is to stamp over a stencil.  This card idea immediately came to mind.  This one-layer card started by inking Old Olive on the base and then Always Artichoke around the edges for depth.  The sky was covered all over in Baja Breeze, then a large semi-circle around the edges in Marina Mist and finally just a small amount around the edges in Brocade Blue.  Lastly I stamped the moose from MFP's Crisp Winter over top of the stencil.  This is where I had to make a re-do.  The first time I didn't check my placement carefully enough and it looked like one of my moose was headless.  Not a good look at all!  Once the stencil was removed, I stamped the Merry Christmas from MFP's Joyous Season.

  4. This is so pretty, Christine! I love tree silhouettes, and your moose peeking around from the back add a nice touch.

  5. My first attempt at the stamping over stencil tutorial used this Crisp Winter set, too. But the deer heads were stamped over fall leaves and they ended up looking like spiders with the antlers looking like the legs!!! LOL.... Not exactly the effect I was wanting. (Into the scrap heap it went!!)
I absolutely love your winter card. Very peaceful.
