Spotty Dotty Watering Can

My favourite card layout, can you tell? I wanted to participate in this month's Delightful Inspirations challenge. I love images with bugs, any sort of bug and was disappointed that I didn't get the bug in the jar image. I may have to buy that one.

Anyways, I'm not quite sure what happened with the colours. The DP and the watering can do match in real life. The ribbon and the spots are actually the same pink. I will have to try to shoot this card again on the weekend.

DS was helping Mommy with card. He was the one that peeled all the adhesive backings and ran the die cuts through the machine. He even picked the gems, although Mommy had to help with the placement. I always try to keep the layers simple when he wants to play. He loves making cards, stamping and colouring but becomes frustrated with layers.

Challenges this Card Meets:
Delightful Inspirations - use the watering can image
7 Kids College Fund - Seeing Spots
One Stop Craft - Spots and Dots
Paperplaytime - Use a Digi
Paper Sundaes - Spring Blossoms
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes

A Little Birdie Told Me

Wow, that was close. I wanted to play with the Delightful Inspiration challenge this month and I knew it was going to be tough to get it in before the deadline. Its a progressive challenge so I needed to finish this week to play next week. DS would not go to sleep so I had a total of 8 minutes to colour and post. Luckily it was otherwise assembled. I posted the picture and linked the card and by the time it posted my picture, the collection was closed. That was tight. Now I have to go back and fill in the details.

The end result is a little more simplistic than I would like but with the busy DP, I think it balances out well. I actually really like the card and I normally don't like plaid or check patterns. The image is coloured with Copics. The ribbon is So Saffron from SU and the button was inherited from my grandmother's collection. Hope you enjoy.

Challenges this card meets:
Delightful Inspiration - Use the bird image
Creative Card Crew - No Flowers (A shamrock but no flowers)
Paper Playtime - Use a digi stamp
Paper Sundaes - Stripes (Don't you just love his legs!)
Papertake Weekly - Lemon Zingy
Simon Says - Anything Goes
Stamp Something - Use a Digi
Stamping with the Dragon - St. Patricks Day - Use green, gold and white (Look at the shamrock!)
Stamptacular Sunday - You Lucky Duck
Tuesday Throwdown - Use Scraps (The card base, the green to frame the image)

Remembrance

Wow, now that I've finished I am totally loving this card. I admit I was hyperventilating when I received this image for the Delightful Inspiration Challenge. All that hair to colour with an image I wouldn't normally pick for myself. Add to it that the challenges I want to do right now all involve pink. I'm a bit of a tomboy. I've never worn pink. Well for someone who doesn't "do" pink, I seem to have a lot of it in my stash. I just kept pulling out reams of pink paper.

This card will go to SCS "Hope you can cling to challenge", specifically the challenge to make a square card with 4 layers and 4embellishments. I used ribbon, a charm, stickles (glitter glue for Lynn) on the flower centres, and rhinestones.

I"ll be mailing the card to the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center who is holding a card drive at the moment. I'd love to know if a Canadian Cancer Centre is doing the same thing.

Challenges this Card Meets:
Delightful Inspirations - Breast Cancer Awareness - combine with SCS Hope Challenges
Double Delight - Think Pink
Craftalicious - Anything Goes
Meljen's Designs - Anything Goes
Moving Along with the Times - Use Promarkers
Tuesday Throwdown - Anything Goes

Petals in Pink

Love this week's Delightful Inspirations freebie. Most of their images are perfect for making quick and easy notecards, of which I use a ton. I keep them in my desk at work.

The image is watercoloured. Not sure why the outline looks mottled. It looks even in real life although I've noticed I need to put a paper shim in my Big Shot. It's not embossing evenly.

The DP is from Coscto and since it's very soft in colour, I also used it to create the writing space on the inside. The sentiment is from SU's Life's Special Moments set. I bought it to do my wedding Thank Yous but I still use it alot because the sentients are so nice.

Challenges this Card Meets:
Craftalicious - Anything Goes
Creative Card Crew - Fairy Tales (Think of the field of flowers in the Wizard of Oz that puts Dorothy to sleep)
Crazy for Challenges - Birthday
Delightful Challenges - Metal Mania (brad)
Delightful Inspirations
Papertake Weekly - 3 of a kind (flowers and pearls)

Apples from the Teacher

When I saw this week's freebie at Delightful Inspiration, I just knew what I wanted to do with it. I know A LOT of teachers so I decided I wanted to make teacher note cards. The image and sentiment were laid out on the computer and printed on pre-cut cardstock. Getting the layout on the computer so that everything was centered the right way was the hardest part. After that, I just had to watercolour the apples with SU Ruby Red and Mellow Moss. This is a set of six cards for a friend that I'll give for Christmas. What I love is that I can just change the name, and reprint them and I have my Secret Santa gift done too. I think the boxes were harder to make than the cards!

They are 9*13 cm - reponse card size I think. If you know the name of the size let me know.

Challenges this gift set meets:
Delightful Challenges - Use Red, Green and White
Delightful Inspiration - Use this week's digi
ABC Christmas Challenge - U for Under the Tree
Charisma Cardz - Autumn Colours (Red and Green)
Craftalicious - Harvest Festival (Apples)
Fab 'N' Funky - Use a Digi Image
