Oh, I love how this turned out. The photos do not do it justice. The manual setting on my camera doesn't work and the micro beads really confused the autofocus. Believe me I tried!
I've been toying with the idea for several days, since I saw the Stamping Bella challenge for the week. I wanted to play but my Bellas were just too small to paper piece so I wanted to use this image - Christmastini. The trick was the glass. I wanted to get a real crystal effect. In the end, it looks more like a frosted glass but I'm so happy how it turned out. I stamped the glass on acetate and covered it with Scoretape. I then covered the whole thing with microbeads to give it some texture and then sandwiched the beads with more Scoretape to adhere the glass to the paperpieced ornament and background. I haven't seen this particular effect before so I hope you enjoy it. The ornament is some DP scraps with Stickles for the swirls. I used brushed gold paper for the ornament clasp and swivel stick. The star is a piece of confetti I've had lying around for years. To get the thin border on my Nestie image, I used my Big Shot and cut the green and white using the same Nestie and then hand-cut the white along the embossed line.
The layout is this week's sketch from Paperworks and I think it fit perfectly. I did change the dimensions on the card. It is a 4.25*5 inch card. I cut the paper the wrong size and re-cut paper to do a standard card but wen I went to put the card together I thought the "mistake" was better balanced.
